[ Iron-Armed Releases ]
[ Zyph ] [ 8/17/2007 ]

There was a conversation the other day in #thewafflehouse on irchighway regarding Tetsuwan Girl ("Iron-Armed Girl") since I've been pestering everyone to read and Floating_Sakura (known for being a translator to everyone and running her group with an iron first) may or may not have said that everyone should read it...

With that said, volume 1 chapters 5 and 6 are now out! We have a specific thread on the forum for discussing this series now thanks to zzled, so chat about it wherever you wish!

Gatsu and zzled have done a great job getting Freesia volume 8 together. It is finally ready to go, no thanks to my sitting on it for months. Thankfully, volume 9 should be published in a few months.

[ The Birthday will not End! ]
[ Zyph ] [ 8/05/2007 ]

Stephen and Gatsu finished up REAL volume 6 chapter 36. This finishes out the volume and has us waiting for volume 7, due to be released this fall. Great job guys!!

This series, for those not in the know, is by famed mangaka Inoue Takehiko (IT Planning). One bit of amazing news coming out of Comic-Con last weekend was that Viz licensed Slam Dunk! I can't wait to see how Viz does with it. Slam Dunk is easily Inoue Takehiko's most famous work, and had a long amount of staying power (32 volumes in its original run). Opinions guys? I know I'm not the only IT or baskbetball fan here :)

[ Happy Belated 6th Birthday! ]
[ Zyph ] [ 8/03/2007 ]

As of the end of July (say.. the 29th?) Omanga has been around for 6 years. Yes, we started out with a horrific red design for the web page, then a terror full of Kenshin masked in blue with way too many frames. Then nase came in and gave us our first good web design in 2002 and only a few short years ago, the current design.

As a present to ourselves, we are releasing a new project, Tetsuwan Girl by Tsutomu Takahashi with volume 1 chapters 1 to 4 available right now. This work is here based on the hard work and patience of Jinchi and zzled.

zzled put together the following great description of the series:
Tome Kano, a young lady who lost everything dear to her in the Second World War. She works as a waitress in a cabaret bar until, one day, she gets an offer to be part of a promotional exhibition for Girls Professional Baseball. Set on this new path, she goes on to become a legend -- the 'Iron-Armed Beauty' -- and embody the dreams of a nation.

[ A Real Update! ]
[ Zyph ] [ 7/16/2007 ]

Thanks to Stephen and Gatsu's hard work, we have REAL volume 6 chapters 31 to 35. I encourage anyone hasn't given the series a try to do so. It is one of the best series I have read.

Please let us know if you see any problems on the web site (like downloads not working/etc).

In other news, I will likely be heading to Otakon this weekend. Should be fun :)
